Basic steps for Export to Iran:
Exports and sales of goods in foreign markets have particular rules, and if you neglect It may cause wasting your finances.
Export is like any other business,it requires prospecting, planning, familiarizing with scientific methods and finally attracting foreign buyers.
The steps for exporting goods can be listed as below:
Marketing: is the first and most important step in exporting. Marketing means the revision of foreign markets and entering to new markets,you will be able to achieve information about foreign markets by negotiating with buyers, using official information and statistics, participating in international exhibitions, contacting business advisers at embassies and chambers of commerce, as well as inquiring about International institutions and centers that provide services in this regard. Also, identification of rival goods, their quality in the market and the use of promotional methods for introducing goods play an important role in the success of an exporter.
Issuance of PI (Proforma-invoice): The Exporter must submit a Proforma invoice containing the Goods Specification ,Seller and Buyer detailed information.

check the total value of goods and estimating of Customs fee: The customs value is the cost of purchasing goods at the origin plus the cost of insurance and shipping and freight, which may include all the costs associated with the opening of credit or deposit, as well as the rights for model and trade mark And other similar rights related to the goods which had import record,and don’t forget about exchange rate and the equivalents declared by the Central Bank of Iran during the day.Export to Iran
Get Export authorization from relevant organizations: After exporting, the issuer must obtain the license to export the goods from the Chamber of Commerce,Industries Mine and Agriculture, Ministry of Health and Medical Education, National Standard Organization or other institutions.
Declaration of goods to the customs: At this stage, the goods are shipped to the customs and the declaration of export should be regulated and presented to the customs. After the goods are evaluated and the packages are sealed, the exit permit (export license) is obtained
Contracts of carriage and insurance: An exporter signs an agreement with one of the international shipping companies and also insures the goods until they reach to the destination.
Receiving Certificate of Inspection for Goods(COI & VOC): This certificate is usually issued upon request by the institutions that are subject to the agreement of the parties.
Obtaining Certificate of Origin /CO: At this step, the exporter must issue an invoice and present it to the Chamber of Commerce, then the Chamber of Commerce will issue a certificate of origin for the goods in exchange for the presentation of the import license/permission, the bill of lading /BL and the original invoice and packing List image. It should be noted that the issuance of a certificate of origin is currently done through electronic process from the Integrated Certificate System of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce.
Shipping/sending out the goods: The exporter issues the exit permit to the shipping company, and the company carries out the delivery of the cargo and the goods from the customs to be shipped to the destination. Tariffs (Entry Fees) Tariffs or Income Taxes are the taxes and duties that governments charge for supportive or financial reasons, or a combination of them which is known as customs duties.
